I want to break free and do something else; I want change; I want to fly high… Very common off late. 

Frustration, higher calling, entrepreneurship, business ideas, boredom – the list seems endless. But there is also a significant percentage who just want change in current job or role for higher pay or grade. Which is also fine.. 

Let’s only look at the first set listed above. 

Working in a corporate world is always exciting in the beginning, drags on for some years and then suddenly there is a lull. Blank space. This is where one feels lost, with the same questions “What am I doing, where am I heading?”

Some respond with a change in job and manage to go on more years…but they may also somewhere hit the same space. Depends on what triggers it, though.

For the ones who no longer get impressed by the corporate, the untreaded road is rather risky, but very promising and satisfying, if planned and executed meticulously. The important point is to decide what you want to do – if that’s your calling. 

When I think of few ideas and plans which I am currently in the process of executing, there is this flutter in my belly, an excitement sending sparks of energy through to the head and there are goosebumps making a mass entry. Suddenly all the focus and ideation needed comes right in front of my eyes.

What an amazing feeling!

But, core truth is, you need to identify that calling, harmonize your thoughts on the same lines, believe strongly about it and then DO something about it!

Else if its a mere wish that you want to do something else, then my take is that you are just bored. In that case, take a few minutes break from your work and twiddle your thumbs. That’s doing something else 🙂

The decision or intention to take a route which truly fires up passion is a serious and demanding one. Because you are looking at being the shepherd, not the sheep. That takes a lot. 

So, if you are one of them who feels the flutter in your belly, then I suggest you let the passion fire you up completely, surrender to it and do every single action which will truly boost it to become the next best thing to happen for yourself and the world. 

My wish and prayer that you find your calling, start strong, thrive and shine as the brightest star of the generation!!

Most of us have plans and schedules we set with adequate tracking to ensure progress and hence success can be monitored. This also allows us to learn from previous mistakes and make improvements to execute in one more chunk of a month.

This, I feel is a very good way of execution. One, it ensures that the seriousness carries through every day of the month, thereby optimising the available days. Two, it allows to make minute but significant daily corrections, so that the proposed outcome will be closer to reality at the end of every month.

The cumulative progress in 6 months and for the matter, in a year is massive if the above is done diligently.

So, I encourage you on the first day of this month to plan and completely exhaust the next 31 days. Make specific completion targets daily so that they add up to the final outcome. Its very much possible that you might do 80% to 90% of expected target. But that’s fine and is way farther than 0%. 

Everyone has a different target every month. So plan, maximize and destroy the month.
